I became interested in photography after borrowing my mother’s Pentax X70 in 2000. I took it to boarding school and experimented a range of different styles – self portraits, sports, long exposures.
My photography skills benefited from my technical interests and addictive personality. I remember printing reams of photography documentation in the school IT room which I would meticulously read, highlight and re-read in my dorm room.
It wasn’t until 2004 when I travelled to Nepal and India that knew I’d found a really rewarding passion. I’d always been interested in interpersonal/people photography but had never the confidence to really commit to the shot. India provided me with a disconnect from reality and enabled me to really commit to the the moment.
I find myself passively taking photographs now and the primary objective of PhotoVein.com is to provide myself with both the incentive and the medium to take and share photographs on a regular basis.
